A challenging and technical trek through the majestic heights of the Ecrins mountain massifs. Our route will take us along the GR54, the wildest and most difficult GR trail of the Alps: 170km (105 miles), 13 passes and 12 800 variance metres (42,000 feet). A few exclusive detours will give us further access to the heart of the Ecrins National Park, the home of emblematic fauna of the Alps.

To stay true to our ethics and to have the incredible satisfaction of completing this tour only by foot, we do not offer vehicle transfers on this trek. It is long and tough but one of the most rewarding trek in the Alps.
Accommodation in guest houses and mountain lodges has been carefully selected for comfort and authenticity. These will welcome us to the dinner table and for breakfast, as well as prepare a snack for our next-day picnic.

A voyage off the beaten track. An itinerant trek in the Zagros, arid mountains in western Iran. A discovery of a cultural heritage spanning a thousand years. And above all, an encounter with some of the warmest people on Earth.
Programm:
Day 1: departure from Paris in the early evening
Day 2: arrival at Teheran in the early morning. Immigration checks and then interior flight to Shiraz in south-east Iran. Touristic visit highly recommended, especially of the magnificent Nasir al-Mulk mosque.
Day 3: visit of the famous ancient city of Persepolis, a UNESCO world heritage site.
Day 4-7: our first trek on the Zagros Mountains. These mountains are on the western border of Iran and form a great chain from North-West to South-East. The landscape is sometimes arid and desert-like and sometimes lush with green oases in the lower valleys teeming with life. Culturally, there is rich diversity too; with a human mosaic inhabiting the mountains.
At night, we will be alternating between camping and being hosted by locals.
Day 8: tourist visits and relaxing in one of the most beautiful cities of the country: Ispahan, a UNESCO world heritage site. Discover here the gem of Islamic architecture. The marvelous Meidan Emam square deserves particular attention, especially at sunrise and sunset hours. The bazaar is just as enticing.
Day 9-12: another trek, in the Alborz mountains. This mountain chain, separating the central plateau from the Caspian Sea offers us more higher-altitude hikes, with more vegetation and a temperate climate: all in direct contrast with the Zagros. Nights will be spent in shelters and camping.
Day 13: we make a stop at Teheran for an unstructured day of tourism and bazaar-shopping
Day 14: depart from Teheran in the early afternoon and arrival in Paris in the evening.
